EEAC MINUTES – MONDAY, January 5, 2009

Here are the minutes from the East End Area Council's January 2009 meeting...

Call to order

Nick Motz - called to order for Laurie Keleher (slightly late) at 7:00 PM. An un-official motion was made to expedite meeting for 8PM dismissal for football. Contact: keleher.eastend@gmail.com

Guest Speakers

Police Report

Officer Love and Capt. Wiseman – Crime states were presented. Baptist Church at 3109 Riverside Drive was broken into and $3500+ of goods were stolen in December. Call with any info. Big bust/shootout occurred at Annie’s nightclub with shots fired, a chase, etc. Person was caught and now in jail. Call 513-765-1212 for any non-violent/emergency crimes. Recreation Department Report

Katie Lear – Was sick tonight, thus no report. Call the Rec center for latest events and more info @ 513- 281-3209. Contact: katie.lear@cincinnati-oh.gov

East End Veteran’s Memorial Victory Garden

Joe Corcoran – presented a request for community grant funds for the Urban Orchard project, which involves the planting of some Standard Mature Trees in the amount of $514.70. The project is proposed to start at the Delta/Riverside intersection and work West towards town. Board will discuss at next board meeting.

Secretary’s Report

Nick Motz - presented the December 2008 meeting minutes. One correction was made on Budget section. Motioned, seconded, filed. Contact: nick@wilkerdesign.com

Treasurer’s Report

Nick Motz – presented December’s Treasurer’s report for Jackie Weist (absent). Motioned, seconded, filed. Contact: jweist@fuse.net

Old Business

NSP Funds – Patrice Allen presented her well-researched NSP proposal. Motion was made to accept NSP Fund dispersement as presented by Patrice Allen, seconded, passed unanimously all 14 present in favor, 0 opposed.

Budget – 2009 Proposed Budget was presented with no objections by Nick Motz.

Transportation Study/Bus Stops – Having a hard time getting a response from the Transportation board.

Collins Steps – No news from Gerry Burns (absent).

Housing Fund – Still in legal department at the City.
